Internships and voluntary posts are available throughout the year on a part-time or full-time basis. Training with GWI at distance is also possible for students in the European Union, the United States, Africa and the Middle-East.

Global Water Institute (GWI) seeks highly motivated graduate civilian and military students and non-student volunteers with strong oral and written communications skills, the ability to work in a team environment and at distance, flexibility to handle multiple assignments and projects effectively.

Candidates must be interested in policy making in the post-conflict African Affairs regarding the reintegration of ex-combatants, the management of water resources, environmental security, and conflict prevention.

Some of the areas in which one can train or work include (but are NOT limited to):

Track 2 Diplomacy; Advocacy Field Relations; International affairs; Grant writing; Lobbying; Strategic Operations; Research; Module writing for training; Office administration; and Grassroots communication.

GWI runs its operations in two languages: English and French. Trainees and volunteers must be comfortable at least with one or both languages.

Internships are unpaid and range from 10 to 20 hours per week.
